Earth Champion Programme
A five day influencers programme, designed to equip enthusiasts, environmental professionals and managers with the skills to be an influencer of others within their organisation, rather than an evangelist!
Designated “Earth Champions” learn how to raise awareness, challenge appropriately, influence people’s hearts, minds and limiting beliefs, to make a meaningful difference in the work situation. Earth Champions influence the key influencers and create their own tipping point. They learn what it takes to ‘walk the talk’ and help the organisation do so in everything it does, from setting up Green Teams, focusing energy on new approaches, and getting people to care – enough.
The Earth Champions will gain a brief overview of fundamental environmental science (the carbon cycle, the role of biodiversity in keeping the atmosphere in balance, the big threats to the oceans, cradle-to-cradle concepts for waste management) as well as learning how to explain the complexity of climate change in simple terms for others.
Participants are introduced to the ‘slicing approach’ as a means to set personal, team and company targets for carbon emission reductions. The basics of carbon footprint measurement are introduced as a tool to coach individuals and groups to look at efficiencies.
This programme enables Earth Champions to give a wake up call to individuals and organisations and lead the process of collaborative change.
