We shape our intervention to fit with what our clients want – with the caveat that it makes a difference! Bespoke programmes are developed based on the outcomes of the diagnostic phase. We can have different levels of involvement:
- Whole change programmes, with involvement from pre-project design through to implementation of change
- Supplementing an existing change programme
- Provision of bespoke training
- Delivery of ‘off-the-shelf’ training
- Training our client’s nominated change team to bring about the change
We have developed bespoke programmes for:

- Cultural alignment and integration of new assets/business units, post-acquisition
- Major construction and fabrication projects with multiple EPIC and sub-contractor teams

Coaching – using the GROW coaching framework, numerous psychology and coaching models and NLP as a change tool, we implement coaching programmes designed to achieve specific results.

Training / Changework
Have you ever been on a training course and wished you were anywhere else but??! Mentioning the words ‘safety’ and ‘training’ in the same sentence is often cause for potential attendees to give up the will to live!
Here at Optimus Seventh Generation we keep people awake. In fact, our job is to awaken people to a new and different way of viewing HSE. This isn’t about ‘telling’. We love to inspire and motivate people, to give them an insight into why, fascinatingly, humans are vulnerable in the world of work, and how we can use our very human instinct to care as a tool for a better HSE performance.
We call our training ‘changework’. We go beyond information giving and skills development to bring about fundamental change in individuals and organisations. Our changework involves some education in medium to large scale groups. It mostly involves the facilitation of significant change in small to medium sized groups.
As part of any change programme we develop for our clients, we have three different kinds of educational events: motivational events; skills training; and changework. These correspond with the ‘motivate’ and ‘educate’ aspects of our approach. Events are based around our core training offerings or developed to elicit specific behavioural change. We also carry out technical training with our unique behavioural flavour.
The following can be used as a guide to what is possible, as well as to assess specific events. You should be aware that changework events are most effective in the context of an overall change programme and work less well as stand-alone events. This is because changework is designed to deliver specific organisational and personal change. Individuals need to be supported by on-site coaching or leadership sponsorship once they return to their workplace.

Changework
Changework takes individuals on an inner journey to look at how they create their environment and how they can safely undergo personal change that aligns them with the values of care. All changework is undertaken as part of a larger organisational change programme with a specific vision, values and goals. There is significant personal development for individuals, who learn about themselves and their impact in their organisation. They learn how their beliefs can enable or limit them, and go beyond complacency to excellence. Most people who go through our changework programmes testify that what they have learned, mostly about themselves, has been life changing.
