Behavioural Safety Training

In organisations where emphasis for change is placed purely on behaviour - when what is required is to change a whole culture - one often finds that the change is not sustainable unless attention is also placed on what causes the behaviours - beliefs, values, attitude and experience. Behavioural change safety programmes that simply focus on ‘right behaviours’ are doomed to failure if they do not also address the beliefs inherent in the organisation from Board Level to shop floor, and ensure that the values in the organisation are in alignment with what people actually do.

Our Coaching for Safety approach places the skills to bring about effective change within the workforce. This approach can be used by leaders, managers, safety professionals through to supervisors, and can be particularly effective when carefully selected and fully trained safety coaches are given a free roving and supported role within an organisation to ‘create a culture of careTM’.  The Coaching for Safety programme is a 5 day, 2-part programme.

As a result of the training, you will

·          Understand how coaching can bring about enhanced safety performance

·          Understand what drives people’s behaviours and be able to predict, or review behaviours, with deeper insight into root causes of incidents

·          Focus your coaching skills on what will bring about the greatest sustainable change

·          Have an enhanced ability to observe what is really going on in organisations and target the right people and issues

·          Develop your emotional intelligence within the workplace so you can create emotional safety

·          Have practical coaching skills to use immediately - in team meetings or working one to one at any level in the organisation

·          Have the ability to influence hearts and minds in the safety arena

‘Profound change’, ‘better understanding of myself’, ‘I now know how I can have that difficult conversation I’ve been avoiding’ are just some of the comments made by clients who have attended the Coaching for Safety Programme. This programme draws high praise from all its attendees.
